2010 Events 

              Sunday October 3rd - Theatre by the Lake 

              Gala Opera Concert - in the years when we do not mount a production it has become the tradition that 

              we put on a concert of opera, including arias, ensembles and choruses, some well-known and some more

              rarely heard. The programme this year will include the following:-

              Excerpt from Act 2 of 'Aida', including 'Fu la sorte' and 'The Grand March'

              A large chunk of Act 3 from 'Il Trovatore' including 'Di Quella Pira'

              Excerpts from 'The Magic Flute' including the Finale 

              Yvonne Fontane, mezzo-soprano, will sing 'Gerechter Gott' from Wagner's 'Rienzi', 'Va, laisse couler' from  

              Massenet's 'Werther', 'Re dell 'abisso' from Verdi's 'Un ballo in Maschera' and 'Parto,parto' from Mozart's 'La

              Clemenza di Tito', as well as featuring in the two Verdi ensembles. 

              There will be several other choruses, solos and ensembles.

              David Sutton, our very experienced Musical Director, will be directing from the piano, and we hope to be
